Friday, September 08, 2006 ![]() ![]() After the Hainanese curry rice, we went to Tiong Bahru Market and Hawker Centre (just renovated) just across the road to look for the famous Lor mee with Shark meat. And we finally found it! Its $2 for a small bowl, with Shark meat is $3. My friend likes the Lor mee too, commented that the gravy is just nice, not too watery and not too starchy. In it, theres also the usual stuff like fishcake, pork slices, bean sprouts, and something uncommon, fried flour bits! The fried shark meat fritters are not bad too, the meat is pretty solid, and doesnt crumble easily when bitten into. And the batter is such that although it is placed into the gravy for awhile, it doesnt turn all soft and mushy immediatly. Worth a try. 178 Lor mee Tiong Bahru Market and Hawker Centre Rating: 3.5/5 |
