Tuesday, August 01, 2006 ![]() A special tribute to my mum's special chicken soup! Well, the basics are pretty much the same, chicken+water+herbs, but for this particular soup, she added pig kidneys (coz our whole family likes it, and it strengthens the kidneys too), pork-ribs (not sure what is it for, probably to make it sweeter and have more meat?) and gingko nuts+wolfberries+barley (to make it sweeter i guess). Special eh? How did it taste? Very good! i love the kidneys, esp coz it isnt cooked together with the soup, but just added to the boiling soup when you want to eat it so it wun turn hard and shrink to half its size! All in all, its 1 of the nicest soups i drank so far, thanks mum! |
